Area of Specialization / Competence

AOS: Metaphysics (Historical and Contemporary)

AOC: History of Philosophy (Ancient, Medieval, Modern); Ethics; Philosophy of Religion

Research Interests:
Among various other things (I'm really a generalist at heart) I think about the existence of disputed classes of entities like artifacts and persons and corresponding issues like reductionism, constitution, and supervenience. I'm exploring the possibility of a non-reductive account of human persons, and how this might affect perspectives in the foundations of moral theory.
